Want to be the spotlight of your Christamas party? What’s the Look? This flattering, ethereal look swaps smoky shades for silver and white hues, teamed with a flawless base.
How to do it?
1.A flawless complexion is essential, so try using a mineral foundation, which blends easily. Try Max Factor Natural Minerals Powder Foundation.
2. Smooth a suits–all–skin–tones rose–pink cream blusher onto your cheekbones, blending upwards and outwards. We like Clinique Brushwear Cream Stick in Very Blush.
3. On your eyes, use a soft eyeshadow brush to apply a layer of silver shadow over the lids and up to the brow bone, blending well. Work the shadow into the inner corner of each eye and take the colour underneath the lower lashes, too. Don’t worry if any flecks of eyeshadow fall onto your cheeks – it only adds to the glowing effect.
4. Follow with two coats of black volumising mascara, such as Maybelline Volume Express Mascara.
5. Let your frosted eyes take centre–stage this Christmas by teaming them with a muted baby pink pout. Press the colour onto your lips with your finger to ensure the look is soft and modern. Try Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Lipstick in Pink Diamond.
Hair type:
Divide your hair into five equal sections and, one at a time, twist and fasten at the back of your head with grips or mini crocodile clips.
Once all the hair is in place, pull a few strands free from around your face to create a slightly undone finish, and spritz with a strong–hold hairspray such as Elnett Hairspray Extra Strength.
Tip: Dramatic Christmas eyes should be teamed with lips in ultra–subtle shades. However, darker skin tones can get away with more colour, so go for a red or plum stain on the lips instead. Try No7 Autumn Collection Lip and Cheek Tint in Fire.

If you’ve always wanted to try a sexy and illustrious smoky eye but have not yet had the courage to do so, today is your day! A smoky eye is a brilliant addition to your makeup arsenal, adding a dramatic touch for a special event or a night out. Creating a smoky eye effect is a lot easier than you’d think… Let’s begin!
To start, apply a dependable primer to your eyelids, like Bare Escentuals Prime Time Eyelid Primer – this gives the eye makeup something to stick to. A base is such an essential step in creating the smoky eye because it will keep the makeup smudged and beautiful, instead of runny and messy. For a traditional smoky eye, you will want to choose a charcoal or espresso eyeshadow color. One fantastic choice for an uncomplicated smoky eye is the Stila eye shadow pan in Storm. This is an eye makeup product in a dark charcoal shade – exactly what you need for a smoky eye!
After you have applied the base, use the Shiseido Smoothing Eyeliner Pencil to apply black eyeliner to the upper and lower lash line. After that, apply the charcoal eyeshadow over the entire eyelid. Use a neutral cream or champagne colour to blend the charcoal eyeshadow up into the brow bone so that it looks smoother and less harsh. Now comes the fun part! The quintessential look of the smoky eye is a slightly smudged effect. To achieve this smuged effect, take a clean cottonbud and and smudge the eyeliner on your lower lash line. This is something that should look very natural, yet sexy and messy at the same time. You can also go a step further and apply some of the charcoal eyeshadow with a contour brush to the lower lash line for a more dramatic smoky look.
The next step is to curl your eyelashes, and apply several coats of Lancome Virtuose Mascara. Curling your eyelashes will help to complete the look. It is essential to apply a volumizing or lengthening mascara to make a difference in bringing out the final smoky eye.
But we’re not finished yet! Finally, it is so important to groom your eyebrows as a frame for the eye makeup. Use a clean contour brush to lightly apply an eyeshadow shade that matches your hair colour. You only need to apply a very small amount of the eyeshadow to your eyebrows, and comb them into place. This will work to complete and finish your polished look of a sexy smoky eye.
