How to Apply Makeup in the Approved Manner

Published by admin under eyeshadow primer

Start with a freshly-washed face (and hands, too). Get a facial, or do one yourself. You want your face to be a clear and smooth canvas for you, the “artist,” to do your art. Use a good deep cleansing mask. Do not exfoliate if you have oily or sensitive skin. It will spread bacteria around your face from the already existing blemishes. Use antibacterial soap if you have acne. Also be sure that you replace the towel you use to dry your face every week. Lastly apply toner by taking a cotton pad that has been dampened in warm water and sweep it over your face. Toner will restore the pH level of your skin and pick up any remaining dirt.

If foundation ordinarily makes your skin feel thick and oily, then you’re not using the right kind (the longer-lasting foundations are heavier as are the foundations that transform into powders so avoid these). In fact, you can pretty much avoid almost all foundations and stick to cream cover-ups and correction sticks for skin irritations and dark circles. Apply these and blend them by massaging them into the skin.

Use a brush to apply your concealer under each eye, and rub it in with a finger. It should move with the skin, like foundation. If the concealer goes cakey, the formula you are using is too dry. Apply around the nose and lips to lock in lip colour and make the lips appear fuller. The concealer should complement and mirror the shade of your foundation. If your primer, foundation and concealer are all silicon based, they will last much longer.

Just apply a single color lipstick. Choose any of your preferred lipstick color (color which is suitable for your skin tone) and apply onto your lip. Add some lip balm if your lipstick have very small amount of moisturizing agent.

Just apply a thin line of eye liner at the outer tip of your lower eye lids. Do not draw a full line from lower inner eye lids to lower outer tip of eye lids, it will look very unnatural. Apply lipstick of your choice and add a lip balm if necessary.

Always moisturize your skin before applying the foundation even if your skin is oily. The first step when applying makeup is the application of appropriate moisturizer according to your skin type. It will improve your skin quality and act as a protective layer to help trap the moisture in the skin and stop it from evaporation. Apply the moisturizer and let it soak in at least 3 minutes before applying foundation. Moisturizers protect your skin from the sun, wind, cold, from the environmental pollutants and nourish your skin.

If you use too much bronzer and your skin looks orange then you can wipe off some of the makeup with a clean makeup sponge until you achieve the desired look.

It is best to play with different colors until you get one which blends well on your lip. It is very difficult to tell which color is best although your make up artist probably have advised you on which color to choose.

Apply eyeshadow to lower lashes. Using your eyeshadow brush, apply the deep-hued eyeshadow along the bottom lashes, from the outside in. Unless you have wide-set eyes, don’t line the entire lower lid. Instead, stop halfway across. For a more natural look, don’t dip the brush into the shadow again, instead, use the excess that’s still on the brush for the lower lashes.

Learn ? How to Apply Makeup

Published by admin under eyeshadow pencil

Applying Concealer

Always apply your concealer on top of foundation and before you add powder. If you try to do things the other way round, you might wipe the concealer off when applying your foundation? To disguise under-eye darkness, gently pat concealer under the eyes using the index finger. Exert only gentle pressure and blend outwards, taking care not to drag the skin.

Applying Blush

Apply the blusher with a brush, on the cheek, in the shape of a triangle, tapering towards the temples. Blend it outwards and upwards. No lines of demarcation should be visible. It should not have a harsh effect, but rather lend the face a warm, soft glow.

Eyeliner Application

You will instantly look more awake and the whites of your eyes will appear brighter, It can also make small eyes appear larger, Never lend eye pencils to other people, as this is one of the quickest ways to spread germs, If you have an eye infection, replace eye pencils and mascaras to avoid reinfecting the eyes, Sharpen pencils regularly to ensure that the points are clean.

Applying Eyeshadow

To ensure that your eyeshadow is long-lasting and crease-proof, make-up artists advise application with a damp make-up brush. As the eyeshadow is blended into the skin, it will dry. Also, because the product will cling to the wet brush, stray particles of powder will not collect on the cheeks. Eyeliner should be applied close to the base of the eyelashes. Operating an eyeliner pencil, run the pencil above the upper eyelid lashes right close to the lash line.

Applying Foundation

To apply foundation, start from the centre of the face, dotting on to the cheeks and forehead and blending outwards, first making sure your fingertips or make-up sponges are spotlessly clean. Gently blot the skin with a tissue to remove any excess product or surface oil. Never drag the skin if you are using your fingertips to apply cosmetics. Smooth foundation over the lips and eyelids to act as a base for lip and eye products. If you’re not very good at blending foundation, try applying it with a make-up sponge.

Applying Mascara

With modern mascaras there is no need to pump the wand in and out of its container before applying, This can actually cause overload and result in clogged lashes, You need only enough product on the wand to coat the lashes, so any excess should be wiped off with a tissue, Roll the wand through the lashes to help curl-definition, Always work on the upper lashes from underneath to avoid overloading and keep mascara on the lower lashes to a minimum, especially if you are looking tired or have a tendency to rub your eyes a lot.

Some Makeup Application Tips

1. Wash face with cleansing milk.

2. Apply a toner followed with a moisturizer.

3. Start by using a little foundation so as to get a very thin layer of foundation to even out your skin color. You may even use a cover stick or concealer marks, dark circles and blemishes.

4. Apply concealer if required.

5. Brush powder for the matte finish as it controls oiliness

6. Do up your eyes with shadow, liner, kajal and lastly mascara.

7. Blush your cheeks, according to your face shape.

8. Finish defining the lips with a lip pencil and lipstick.

How to Apply Invisible Makeup in 10 Easy Steps

Published by admin under pink eyeshadow

The whole idea with natural makeup is to achieve a radiant face that is prettier than what nature had provided. Rosier lips. Flushed cheeks. Perfect skin that is soft and smooth and radiant. Long lush lashes. Bigger eyes. The works.

That can be achieved with makeup. Only difference is how obvious do you want it to be that you are wearing makeup?

Ideally, you should look prettier, yet look like you are not wearing any makeup at all. Is that possible?

Ironically, it takes the full slew of makeup to look like you aren’t wearing any. You would need a makeup base, foundation, concealer, translucent loose powder, powder blusher, lipstick, eyeshadow, mascara, koh and a facial spray.

The result is as if you aren’t wearing makeup, but you look so much prettier than you normally do when your skin is really makeup-free.

Makeup is all about enhancing your beauty, not detracting from it. Done right, skin looks radiant, eyes bigger and brighter and lips so much more kissable. Great makeup application does that for you.

Yes, you can go adventurous with dramatic eye makeup, or go for the gothic look, but hey, won’t it be more fun to have them guessing whether you were born naturally gorgeous?

There a few tricks to note.

1) You choice of color
2) Blend, blend, blend
3) Mist and Set.

Ready?

Step 1
After cleansing, toning and moisturizing your face, dot on makeup base and blend it with finger tips over your entire face.

Step 2.
Get a foundation that matches your skin exactly. Test the color on your jawline. It should disappear completely.
Dot that foundation on your face and blend it in so it disappears into your skin.

Step 3.
Are any blemishes visible? Are your dark circles still obvious? If you really need more coverage, use a concealer that matches your skin. Dab on just enough with a brush onto the blemishes or dark circles and blend that in until the concealer vanishes completely.

Step 4.
Pick a blusher in a natural color — the pink of your cheeks when you blush, or after a great workout. Or the golden glow you get on your cheekbones after a day out in the sun. Take a blusher brush and apply the blush on cheeks, forehead, chin and tip of your nose for all over radiance.

Step 5.
Choose an eyeshadow in a natural brown, peach or beige a shade or two darker than your natural skin tone. Apply that over your entire eyelid. Take another eyeshadow a few shades darker and appy into the crease of your eyelid to make eyes bigger.

Step 6.
Dust the entire face with loose translucent powder to set the makeup so that it looks more natural.

Step 7.
Spritz face lightly with a facial mist to set the makeup.
Lay a kleenex over your face for a second.

Step 8.
Draw a fine line with kohl on the outer half of the upper lash line to make eyes look a little bigger. Smudge the line to soften it.

Step 9.
Apply a coat of mascara to open up the eyes and make lashes look lush and long.

Step 10.
Pick a lipstick that is the same color as the inside of your lip. Apply that with a lip brush. Blot the excess with kleenex.

How to Apply Eye Shadow

Published by admin under pink eyeshadow

Eye shadow is perhaps the most beloved cosmetic of creative makeup artists. Some women prefer to apply eye shadow with a damp brush or applicator. This helps in intensifying the color. Powder eye shadows come in singles or color coordinated sets. Cream eye shadows can be coordinated with powder eye shadows. Eye shadow adds depth and dimension to one’s eyes, compliments the eye color, or simply draw attention to the eyes. The effect of eyeshadow usually brings out glamorous and attention bringing out the eyes.

Eye shadows on your eyes should never be too obvious. A good one can be judged by having beautiful eyes without seeing the makeup on it. That is because eye shadows should be used to create the illusion of depths and shades that will bring out the good angles of your eyes without the look of being outrightly painted on. Needless to say, light colored eye shadows are preferred during daytime and smoky eyes are best to party with at night.

Put the eyeshadow on. A nice rounded shape on the eye takes only a few seconds. Beginning at your lash line moving just slightly past your crease you need to apply either a light shade of eyeshadow or highlighter completely across your eyelid. Also do it all the way up to your eyebrows. After that you should put a middle shade of eyeshadow upon your eyelid, also adding a bit under your bottom eyelashes – (not too chunky). Then put a bit on the outer edge of your eye, creating a slightly darker area there.

Begin by applying a light color from lash line to brows. Shades of ivory, beige, peach or pink are common, but other light tones can work well. Then apply a medium shade from lash line to crease. Finally, accent the crease of the eyelid with the darkest shade. Blend with a soft brush to avoid removing your eye shadow or smudging. You can apply eyeliner along the lash line and use mascara to accent your eye lashes if you like. Eye makeup remover or a damp cloth can remove smudges. Some people opt to do their eye shadow and other eye makeup before applying foundation and other makeup to allow mistakes to be tidied up more easily.

Applying Eye Shadow:

Apply the medium shade on the upper eyelid only. Use a lighter shade under the browbone to highlight the eyes.

Use an eye shadow brush and apply the lightest color from the crease up toward your eyebrow. Just apply a light coat across.

However you decide to apply your eye shadow, depending on the size of your eyelid, keep in mind that the lid and under-brow shades should meet but not overlap at the crease.

If you want dramatic eyes, take your eye shadow brush, dip it into water, and then into the shadow, then apply. It will give you a much deeper, dramatic color.

Apply a lighter eye shadow color above your primary color and below your eyebrow.

To make your eyes appear round, apply a soft brown to the lid up and just above the crease. Apply the same shade underneath your lower lashes.
