Question by diddlemyskittle: Best eye shadow palette? BH cosmetics or Coastal scents?
I am looking for an eye shadow palette with a mixture of both matte and shimmer eye shadow from either BH or Coastal scents but it seems as if they either have one palette with just shimmer and one with just matte but none combined.Can anyone tell me if any of the palettes from any of these companies have both matte and shimmer eyshadows. Also, which is better BH or Coastal Scents..Ive heard that they are from the same retailer but people seem to say that Coastal Scents is better…what say you?..please help!!!

Answer by Michelle their the same thing same company just different name.their both the same it does not matter really. their both pigmented and stay on all day.

I’m a little caught between the matte and the shimmer. I love shimmer, but I’m wondering if getting the shimmer palette will be a mistake. Maybe I’ll decide I want more matte colors? I’m younger, so I want my makeup to look fun and fresh without being trashy and over the top. I really love coastal scents and will probably end up getting both eventually, but right now I’m on a budget. Which one is the most versatile/best to start out with?

Answer by ImaJedi. I love the matte pallet. The matte pallet actually has a few metallic (neutral: silvers, brows, coppers, etc.) colors, so you’ll get your fix of shimmer in there.
I find that matte is a lot more wearable and a lot more versatile – so I definitely recommend it if you’re younger.

it’s a mixture of mattte, shimmer & satin shadows, which is perfect cause i don’t like shadows that are too matte & too shimmery. xD

I know coastal scents are made in China, and I know China has a bad rep for producing hazardous products. Coastal scents is made by the same company as Manly, Beauties Factory, BH cosmetics and now I see the a new brand on amazon is selling an exact version of the 120 eyeshadow palettes under the name Shany. Some of the companies I named are American companies that stamp their names on these products and sell them here. What I am confused about is… if products are made in China (or any other country) aren’t they still required to meet FDA regulations if they are sold and distributed in the US?
I have the Manly 120 palette and I have used it once. I must say I love the colors and it stays on well. I am concerned about lead and other poisons. Bh cosmetics, and Shany ( exclusively sold on amazon) sells the exact same palette. I’m wondering if I would be safer ditching the Manly brand since it is not sold in the us and going with an American brand like Coastal scents, BH cosmetics and shany even though that were made in the same factory. I don’t know if American companies test products that were made somewhere else before selling them.
Ok. I think I just answered my own question. I went to coastal scents website and I saw their “safety report”. One tested for lead and the max is 10 ppm. The report was <10ppm. Most reports usually state the exact number. That was just one potential hazard. I have a small child and I am concerned about her health as well . So I don't think I will use.
On another note, I bought Manly off ebay and the lead report online was 1.7ppm. Don't know if it is safe to use, so I won't.

Most of the things over here in the US are made in China.
Some are hazardous, but Coastal Scents makeup isn’t.

Answer by Ms.Lilly I order something from Coastal Scent and it took about 7+ days to arrive.
There are a few other companies that also sell the same palette that has faster shipping.
I bought the 88 + 120 Palette from amaebeauty.com and it arrived in 2 days. Their shipping is cheaper and their delivery time is only 2-3 days. It was packaged extremely well with bubble wrap and peanuts
